We are all perfect in our own magnificent way. So learn to LOVE yourself, don’t be afraid to LAUGH at yourself, and just know that LIFE is so much better when you no longer try to be everyone’s cup of tea. ☕️
There is nothing more badass than unapologetically and authentically showing up FOR yourself AS yourself ❤️💫
Today’s Affirmation:
I don’t need to wait for the light at the end of the tunnel. I can light that up myself. I am feeling strong and ready to thrive in all areas of my life. 💡🔥
I became a Pilates instructor because of the profound impact it had on my life and my passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals. My journey began as a client, seeking a way to strengthen my body and improve my flexibility while also finding a sense of balance and peace.
From the first class, I was hooked. The precision and control required in Pilates movements challenged me in ways I had never experienced before. I noticed improvements in my posture, core strength, and overall body awareness. This personal transformation was not just physical; it also brought a sense of mental clarity and mindfulness that became a vital part of my daily routine.
As a group fitness instructor with a background in bodybuilding, triathlons, and personal training, I saw the potential to integrate Pilates into my existing knowledge base. I realized that Pilates could be a powerful tool to help my clients, especially women over 50, gain strength, lose weight, and enhance their overall well-being. The low-impact nature of Pilates makes it accessible to people of all fitness levels, and its focus on core stability and alignment aligns perfectly with my philosophy of holistic fitness.
The decision to become certified in Pilates was a natural progression for me. It allowed me to expand my skill set and offer a more diverse range of services to the members of Lakeshore Recreation, where I love working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I pursued specialized training in Pilates and dedicated myself to mastering the techniques and principles that make it so effective.
Teaching Pilates has been incredibly rewarding. I love witnessing my clients' progress as they develop strength, flexibility, and confidence in their bodies. The sense of community and support within my classes is something I cherish deeply. It's a privilege to guide others on their fitness journeys and help them discover the transformative power of Pilates, just as I did.
Why I love Pilates...
Pilates will transform your body by building core strength, improving flexibility, enhancing posture, and increasing overall muscle tone. By targeting the deep abdominal muscles, lower back, hips, and glutes, Pilates creates a solid foundation of core stability that supports all movements. The emphasis on controlled, precise movements helps to elongate and stretch muscles, resulting in improved flexibility and reduced muscle tension. As your posture improves through strengthened core and back muscles, you'll stand taller and move more efficiently. Additionally, the low-impact, full-body workouts help tone muscles, creating a leaner, more sculpted physique. Over time, this transformation leads to increased physical performance, reduced risk of injury, and a heightened sense of physical and mental well-being.
A happy, healthy body is worth the effort.
Dear Amazing Women,
Taking the time and effort to care for your body is one of the best investments you can make.
A happy, healthy body not only makes you feel good physically but also boosts your confidence, energy, and overall well-being.
It's about celebrating what your body can do and treating it with the love and respect it deserves.
Every step, every workout, every healthy choice is a testament to your strength and commitment to yourself. Remember, you are worth every bit of effort.
Stay strong, stay positive, and embrace the journey to a healthier, happier you.
With love and encouragement,
Lisa Oberbichler

"CHOOSE PROGRESS OVER REGRET"
Every day we face choices that shape our lives. Instead of dwelling on past mistakes or missed opportunities, focus on the progress you can make right now.
Each small step forward is a victory, and every effort counts.
Progress isn't about perfection; it's about growth and embracing the journey. Don't let regrets hold you back. You have the power to create a better tomorrow, starting today.
Keep pushing, keep growing, and remember—you've got this!
Yesterday I had the most amazing time with Paul and Monica for a photo shoot marking a 6-month milestone on my journey to becoming the fittest, healthiest version of myself.
First off, the lovely and talented Monica did my hair and makeup to perfection. She knew exactly the vision I was going for.
Next, Paul got me in front of his camera and the magic started. He directed every move and got the shot so quickly. What a professional! We moved from look to look effortlessly and the final product was outstanding.
The next stage of my incredible journey has been captured for me to look back on and cherish how far I've come in the last 2 years, but in particular over the past year. As I like to say, "I'm far from done yet! In fact, I've just started."
Fitness has become my lifestyle; healthy eating has become the norm; moving my body daily is a non-negotiable; loving my body but still wanting to change means appreciating it as it is while also being excited about its potential for growth and change.
It took me 58+ years to get where I am today and I can't wait to see what the next years have in store for me.

Why it is so important to be in proper alignment during Pilates classes.
In Pilates, alignment refers to the precise positioning and proper arrangement of the body's bones and joints during exercises. This concept is foundational to Pilates practice, as maintaining correct alignment ensures that movements are performed safely and effectively. Proper alignment helps distribute forces evenly across the body, preventing strain and injury, and allows the muscles to work efficiently.
Key aspects of alignment in Pilates include:
Neutral Spine: Maintaining the natural curves of the spine, including the cervical (neck), thoracic (upper back), and lumbar (lower back) regions, to support a strong and stable core.
Pelvic Placement: Ensuring the pelvis is positioned correctly, either in neutral (where the hip bones and pubic bone are level) or in an imprinted position (slight posterior tilt), depending on the exercise and the instructor's guidance.
Scapular Stability: Keeping the shoulder blades stable and properly positioned on the back to support upper body movements and avoid unnecessary tension in the neck and shoulders.
Head and Neck Alignment: Aligning the head and neck with the spine, avoiding forward head posture or excessive neck strain.
Joint Alignment: Proper positioning of joints, such as the knees, hips, and ankles, to ensure movements are biomechanically sound and reduce the risk of injury.
By focusing on alignment, Pilates practitioners can improve their posture, enhance body awareness, and achieve better balance and coordination. This emphasis on correct alignment is what makes Pilates not only effective for strengthening and toning the body but also beneficial for overall health and well-being.

Sunsets are natures way of reminding us that endings can be beautiful too. As the sun dips below the horizon, it paints the sky with hues of orange, pink, and purple, creating a masterpiece that lasts only a few moments. This fleeting beauty teaches us to appreciate the present and find joy in the moment. Let every sunset be a reminder that life is a series of beginnings and endings, each one more beautiful than the last.
